Ami Hordes

Ami Hordes, Partner

Ami, a partner in the firm's international department, centers his transactional practice on equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and a variety of other securities-related and corporate matters.

Capitalizing on his detail-oriented approach while staying focused on his clients' big-picture objectives, Ami drives deals from pre-Term Sheet to Closing by drafting and negotiating transaction documents which both protect his clients' legal and commercial interests and reflect the deals struck with their business partners.

Ami's clients include institutional, private, and high-net wealth investors, emerging and mature hi-tech, bio-tech and low-tech companies, small business owners and non-profit organizations, industry leaders and multi-national corporations.

Ami represents these clients in a wide range of transactions, including share purchase and convertible securities agreements, establishment of private equity funds and handling their portfolio investments, and joint venture deals concerning real estate and other business activities - on matters extending from domestic Israeli to cross-border to purely international.

Drawing on more than 15 years of experience practicing corporate law, Ami regularly advises investors, founders and other stakeholders regarding the strengths and weaknesses of their legal position and how to make the most of their shareholder and contractual rights, and works together with them to develop and fine-tune approaches to best achieve their short- and long-term goals.

Ami also puts these skills to work to help his corporate clients build an effective strategy regarding the legal and business aspects of developing, protecting, and commercializing their intellectual property, and then crafts licensing and other IP agreements that reflect this collaborative vision.

Prior to joining Ephraim Abramson & Co., Ami served as a law clerk to the Hon. Justice Tzvi Tal of the Israeli Supreme Court. He graduated with high honors with a B.A. in Economics from Yeshiva University in 1993 and received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1996, where he was a Senior Editor of the Journal of International Business Law.
